Forbes magazine has just published a classification ranking the happiest cities in the world and has included Madrid and Barcelona among the top ten. The study was made by Simon Anholt, a market researcher for a U.S. firm, which received responses from 10,000 people in 20 countries.
The magazine defines Barcelona as "the classic Mediterranean city," while Madrid is on the list "for its vibrant culture and standard of living. "
Ahead of bothe are Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Sydney (Australia) and between the two Spanish cities are Amsterdam and Melbourne, also in Australia. The rest of the top ten are San Francisco (United States), Rome and Paris.
