Wines from the Utiel-Requena Appellation of Origin have crossed the Atlantic to introduce themselves to New York and Cordoba, Argentina.
Four wineries, Finca Ardal, Pago de Tharsys, Vera de Estenas and Vereda Real, presented their wines to importers and opinion makers in “The Big Apple” at a wine tasting led by renowned food and wine critic Gerry Dawes.
Furthermore, several representatives from the D.O. Utiel-Requena participated in the II International Assembly of the Industrial Heritage of Food and Wine at the School of Civil Engineering in Cordoba, Argentina, where they spoke about the archaeological evidence that supports the 2,500-year uninterrupted tradition of cultivating the Bobal grape and making wine, the oldest such established practice on the Iberian Peninsula.
