Description:The Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) is organizing an investors’ mission to the USA with special emphasis on the renewable energy sector, in collaboration with the Trade Commission of Spain in Chicago, which will take place in Chicago on 4 and 5 May 2009. The main objective of this activity, which forms part of ICEX’s specific internationalization support programs for Spanish companies abroad, is to make use of the excellent business opportunities in the USA for this sector, driven by the new US federal administration. The mission also aims to discover first hand, the new projects, regulations and incentives that are being planned for the short and medium term by the different state authorities responsible for the environment. The subsectors with the best prospects in the US market for the coming years are solar energy, wind turbine components, electricity transmission, biomass, energy saving systems and biofuels. These are the areas around which ICEX and the Trade Commission of Spain in Chicago will design and develop the program of events.
